You Have to Start Somewhere

Here and now is a great place

The life of a writer can be challenging. It certainly is for me.

In 2020, I was introduced to this beautiful platform Medium. At the beginning of the pandemic, I used Medium as a refuge from the pain of lockdown. I met many beautiful human beings who are now good friends of mine.

I am grateful for the gifts I received and still receive from all of you on a daily basis.

But, then something happened to me in the fall. I don’t understand it, and I may never understand it.

I got too analytical, and I started worrying about what people thought of me and my writing. I started focusing on me, and lost focus of my message.

Can you relate? Have you ever started worrying about what people thought of your writing, and then stopped writing because of it? I did. For a while.

Then, something happened to me the other day that woke me up. My dear friend Lanu Bennett asked me why I haven’t been seen on Medium for a while. Wow! How wonderful that I was missed!

I don’t have a good answer for this.

Have you ever had moments in your life when you lost confidence in what you were doing? Have you ever felt insecure as a writer, and then lost your focus?
