The Gift of Rain
It reminds us that we can choose to see life as a blessing
Rain.
That miracle falling from the heavens.
The liquid that sustains all life.
It can be seen as both a blessing and a curse.
It causes floods, and it ends draughts.
Like so many things in life the situation determines its value.
Perspective is everything.
Rain reminds me that I know very little about what’s going on. There could be a father praising God for the ability to finally grow their crops and feed his family, while on the other side of the planet a family is being washed out of their home; one they have spent a lifetime to build.
Rain reminds me that there are things happening in all of our lives that we don’t understand. There could be the flood of a dire health condition, or the gentle rain of prosperity in the form of a promotion at work.
Life is never certain. It is rarely predictable.
From my own life perspective, when I think I know what’s going on is when I know the least about what’s going on.
Today, I invite you to think about the things you think you are sure of, and to consider that there might be another way.
